Injury update: downgrade

Injury update: downgrade

I spent three hours at the UCSF sports medicine center today. After being x-rayed and examined by a med student and a resident for 45 minutes, the doctor came in and delivered the final verdict. My “hip injury” has been officially downgraded to a category four “butt injury.”

This is good news and bad news. The good news is that my hip joint seems fine and I won’t be needing a titanium replacement anytime soon. The bad news is that butt injuries are less specific, trickier to fix and more embarrassing to talk about.

I’m scheduled for another six weeks of physical therapy (in shorts, groan) and a possible MRI in October if things don’t recover. I was kind of hoping that there would be an easy fix to this problem. It seems like I am stuck with my butt injury for a few more months at least.

PS: I know that my butt injury isn’t that interesting…Indulge me. I promise to post on shoes later 🙂

Sorry to hear about your injury. Being injured is the worst. I empathize with you…

    Get well soon.
