To Do: Wear Pants

To Do: Wear Pants

I’ve recently decided that I hate, not all, but most pants. Which is odd because I have long, skinny legs and pants should work for me. But so, so many pairs really don’t (I’m looking at you Banana Republic). And those wide leg pairs that are in style have this magic way of only ever looking good when you’re not the one wearing them.

J.Crew’s chinos are the one exception. Perfect cut, love the length and with those great slash pockets. I just ordered a pair in white earlier this week.

i hate most pants, too, but for some reason, jcrew isn’t that bad. i don’t like the petite cut, however.

JCrew pants are the only ones I *can’t* wear for some reason! I think if you have hips they just don’t work, no matter how tall and relatively thin you are. Oh well.

Why is there such a big difference between the “regular” and the “tall” inseams? Site says regular is 32 inches and tall is 36 – and I need a 34, which means I can’t really get away with either one (a 33 or a 35 might be doable). Frustrating.

I hate shopping for pants sooo much that if I find a pair that works I buy 5 pair. I only wish I was kidding. I’d rather shop for a swim suit.

Oh man, why didn’t I read these comments before I ran off and ordered a pair. I foolishly paid for shipping!

I have the same problem with never finding any pants that fit well. Except I’m short(5’2″) with muscular legs and a tiny waist, so I consider it a miracle when I find any pair of pants that fit well. Although no matter what, I’ve always had very good luck with the Gap.

See, I think the wide-leg pants are just a better fit for us curvy girls–I am a size 6 but I’m 5’4″ and have a long torso and shortish legs. The newer pants with a wide-ish leg and slightly higher rise make me look much taller and leaner when I wear them with heels, plus they don’t gap at the waist when I sit down. I am so in love with a pair of jeans I got for 25 pounds at Uniqlo; I wish I’d bought three pairs. The wide-leg cut, if anyone is going to be in NYC or the UK anytime soon.

How tall are you? Are you having problems finding pants that are long enough? I know what pants works for my long skinny legs…pretty much the only pants that do…Gap! It took me years to find that out…funny!
