Wedding Wednesday: Gocco Envelope Liners

Wedding Wednesday: Gocco Envelope Liners

Thank heavens for Gocco! Jordan introduced me to this nifty Japaneses screen printing system a while back. When I couldn’t find the right paper anywhere for envelope liners I decided to make it myself. This was my first time using the machine I bought six months ago.

The dover flower pattern is from ClipArt.com. I enlarged it with Illustrator and reshaped it to fit the Gocco screen size. You have to get your graphic photocopied on an old non-laser machine in order to make the screen burning work. I mixed my color using yellow, mustard and white ink. Once you get everything prepped, it is so easy to print. I made about 120 sheets of this pattern in an hour. Three prints fit nicely along one end of a standard printer paper.

Once the prints had dried overnight, I used PaperSource’s envelope liner template to cut them out. Each sheet made two liners for a 4 bar envelope. I just need to glue them into the finished envelopes and voila! Here’s a photo of my liners at the different stages.

For a total cost of around $15, I now have lovely custom envelopes. I’m going to use the Gocco again for all the other wedding bits: bird seed packages, table cards, thank you notes, etc.

So very lovely….I wouldn’t expect anything less!! I remember you mentioning in an earlier post recently that you may have made too many envelopes..ie: 100 guests doesn’t equal 100 invites. In any case, if you have extras and would be willing to sell them, I would really be interested. Feel free to email me at [email protected]

We Gocco’d our save the dates, and I’m still in love with them a year later. I love going to our friends’ houses and seeing them on the fridge!

WHAT TO WEAR HELP..SORRY I DIDN’T SEE AN EMAIL ADDRESS. I love your What to Wear posts. Here’s my question. My family and I are having professional portraits done. The setting is the beach and or grassy tree area. I need outfits for our 4 year-old son, a 7 month old daughter my husband and myself. I was thinking white linen dress for my daughter and white shirt (button down?polo? for my son) with tan linen pants? But what for my husband and I? We don’t need to match but you know the color values should be somewhat similar. We all have olive/Tan skin, dark hair, eyes..some pics will be B&W some color. Any suggestions?

Does anyone know where I can buy a Gocco? I didn’t realize they discontinued them. And if I do find one, would it be silly to get one if they don’t make the supplies for it anymore. Emily, where did you find yours?
