Urban Girl Almanac: Emily the Offender

Urban Girl Almanac: Emily the Offender

I’m having a Larry David kind of week…I keep unintentionally offending people. So far: friends who think I am mad at them because I’ve been out of touch, role playing gamers, several people related to the wedding, the Hispanic community and likely a few more.

I can’t wait for post-wedding-planning life when I can put my head on straight and get back to being Emily the Benevolent (you must read this list of monarch nicknames). Here’s what I learned this week:

  • Is root beer the same flavor as black licorice? I think it might be.
  • Backpacking rocks.
  • I love vintage medical buildings; even more if I am dressed appropriately.
  • We finally caught our obnoxious neighbor being obnoxious on video. Either this will help resolve the issue or it will make it much, much worse. Stay tuned.
  • Having a day-of wedding coordinator reduces one’s stress level.
  • I love the wording on our wedding programs.
  • Sadly, I’m not that impressed with the Blurb guest book I ordered. The photo printing quality is low.
  • Fresh blueberries are the best snack.
  • Red shoes are an easy way to be happy.
  • I should wear my hair down more often.
  • These new jeans are working out well.
  • Rob is as amazing and wonderful as ever. It will be 7 years tomorrow since we first met. He is my dearest friend and my magnetic north.
  • This week’s San Francisco art is from chantaldefelice on Etsy. It is a print of a drawing made on pressboard, which is somehow exactly perfect for this patchwork city.

Rob is away again for another friend’s bachelor party. So my weekend will largely be consuming with the bridal shower on Saturday. Aside from that, I hope to finish most of the lingering wedding planning and get lots of sleep. Have a great weekend!

Oh no, why are my people mad at you? I am sure they will forgive soon. As for the gamers.. I hear they can hold a grudge. Sorry things are rough, hope you have a great weekend!

It’s not so much that people are mad at me (I hope!) just that I keep stepping on toes here and there. Ug, the Williams guilt is in full effect.

Ugh, arent obnoxious/inconsiderate neighbors the worst? Ive had really bad luck with my last 2 next door neighbors. The price for city living, I suppose!

Wait- Blurb books are not good? This is important stuff… we were thinking of doing our wedding album there. Ugh. Just low quality?

I don’t know if it was our photos or their printing…but it didn’t work out well with Blurb. Our photos came out really dark with this weird redness to the skin tones. We look like we have some sort of rash.

What a shame about Blurb! I was also planning on using them for a wedding album. I know there’s a few other companies out there but I don’t know if they’d be any better.
