Halfway Point Update

Halfway Point Update

Hi everyone! We’re at the halfway point on our honeymoon trip; a perfect time to quickly touch base with you.

As you saw briefly here and on Jordan’s blog, the wedding went perfectly and was so much fun. It took a few days for the awesomeness to fully sink in! We owe it largely to all our fantastic helpers and show participants. I’ll share loads of photos and details when I’m back home.

As for the honeymoon, we’re having a great time driving around the country in our decorated car. So far, we’ve been through Utah, Wyoming and Colorado. Lots of amazing fall color at every turn; love those aspens. We’ve hiked, downhill mountain biked off a ski lift, gone to the spa, river kayaked, road biked, caved, camped, swum, read, sat by the fire, enjoyed “bathrobe time”, explored geysers, tracked wildlife and – just today – tandem biked along a river while it started snowing in the hills.

Naively, I had no idea that there were so many amazing places to see out here! My favorites so far are Jackson Hole and Steamboat Springs. “Mud season” at fancy ski resort towns is suiting us just fine. We head further south tomorrow and start pointing back toward California shortly after.

I’m looking forward to catching up with you all at the end of the month!

Yay for the Steamboat shout-out! I wish I had known you were coming, so I could give you some great spots to go. Enjoy the rest of your honeymoon!

Winonas! Those cinnamon rolls are killers. If you're up for a fun dinner, you should try Mahogany Ridge on 5th & Lincoln. They have great dinners w/ suggested sauces… love the beef tornadoes! You should try to hike the Strawberry Hot Springs tonight. Very fun! If you can't make it there, then the Old Town Hot Springs downtown is nice too. Also, if you're not leaving too early, you should go see Fish Creek Falls. Turn onto 3rd from Lincoln ( next to the post office & hot springs/ Wells Fargo), then take a right at the next stop sign and follow the road all the way to the end. It's beautiful and the leaves haven't completely fallen yet, so you should get some great color. Enjoy your stay… and congrats again!!

Yay you guys! We only spent a week and a half driving/moving across country and we loved it. Iowa City. That’s my hot tip. Who would have thought? But it was our fav place of the whole trip. Enjoy your time away from the internets, we’ll all be excited to hear all about the wedding (and all the advice you have to offer!)

    Enjoy being a newlywed!
