To Do: Plant

To Do: Plant

Our last apartment was incredibly tiny, but with a huge garden. We even had a well of our own! Now I have one tiny pot with a few scented geraniums and impatients on the back stoop.

Spring has me itching for a few new plantings. I’m envisioning a window box outside the living room and a new pot on the back steps with cherry tomatoes, jasmine and tea roses.

What’s your go-to garden plant?

I like to plant that purple flowering ornamental cabbage and snapdragons. They are hearty in the Texas sun and last from spring til fall. I also love Gerber Daisies and Lipstick Sage, but mainly because of its name…

I can't wait till we're done with the inside of the house- so I can start on the outside. I want to have some evening bloomers around our deck, so I can enjoy them after work. And I'm going to try a small garden- tomatoes, peppers, summer squash & zucchini, herbs and hopefully some berries. I am so excited!

I just got done transplanting some aloe that my mom gave me. Not very glam but easy and so useful. I thought an herb garden might be a fun LAC theme. We also have some organic thyme from a farmers market that decided it wanted to grow!

Pinks are my favourites, they look so lovely and in my experience survive anything, always a good thing. I always plant peonies but they are short lived if wonderful joy

I am totally in the spring mood, and ready to tackle my yard from the winter mess. I love to plant herbs, especially lavender and rosemary. They are great to pick and put around your house. I love putting a vase of rosemary in my bathroom.
