To Do: Blue Ridge Grill

To Do: Blue Ridge Grill

I’m in Atlanta this week on business. Honestly, I feel a bit like a kid at camp who just wishes her parents would come pick her up and take her home already. It’s cold here, takes forever to drive anywhere and overwhelming.

The one saving grace is Blue Ridge Grill. I’ve been to this restaurant a couple times on business trips and it’s one of my all time favorites. The dining room is decorated like a cozy cabin and the Georgia trout dish is only surpassed by the cobbler for dessert.

No WAY! I was just in Atlanta this weekend for a work conference! I'm sure you know the ropes already, but I loved the Highlands area. Couple faves from the weekend:
    – Atlanta Cupcake Factory
    – Youngblood Gallery (cutest. boutique. ever.)
    – Soul Vegetarian
    – Merry Mac's (I know, tourist trap, but I loved it)
    – Rolling Bones BBQ
    – Georgia Aquarium (so worth admission to see the whale sharks; the beluga whales exhibit was closed sadly)
    – One Flew South in the airport, by the same guys who started Rolling Bones. (A nice treat before you board the plane.)

I wish Atlanta had a better transit system–we cabbed it everywhere, and walking to and fro in the downtown area was so dicey. Oh well! We are spoiled rotten in SF!

Emily, I used to live in Atlanta (9 years!) and left because it's too hard to get around (among other reasons… But there ARE great places to eat there. I can't wait to try the restaurants you suggested next time I'm visiting friends and family there!

Love your blog!! – Gail (now in Houston & loving it)
