Coveted: Teak Table

Coveted: Teak Table

I need serious dining room table. The current number Rob and I have is a folding side table designed for small apartments or extra space. It is really meant to seat four in an pinch, although we’ve fit as many as 12 too many times to count.

My parents have a beautiful mid-century modern teak table with two built-in leaves that unfolds to seat up to 16 comfortably. I am so jealous! The vintage designs at Scandanavian.Modern are lovely…but the “inquire for price” makes me more than a little nervous!

I'm sure you know this, but Room and Board has some amazing dining room tables. Not sure if they are extendable or not though…

If you're not opposed to a pre-used table, check out Craigslist. It is so so good in the Bay Area (you know, once you get past all the bad stuff, haha). I scored a mid-century modern dresser last month for an insanely low price. I'm sure there are some gorgeous tables just waiting for a good home! 🙂

Second Meghan's CL suggestion – we got our table (very similar to the one pictured) off CL for a fraction of the price of any of the danish modern showrooms we checked. And the guy even delivered it for us!

It seats 4 – 6 and it has leaves on both sides that slip out to accommodate 10 pretty easily. It's one of my favorite purchases ever.

    Craigslist, craigslist, craigslist.

    You'll find it I know.

    Good luck!
