Not too sweet, not too floral. This lightly decorated duvet cover from Dwell is just the right balance for a his and hers bedroom. Imagine it paired with dark walls and porcelain lamps. PS: I’m doing a charity education thing at a woman’s shelter this afternoon. See you tomorrow!

I watched Sense and Sensibility (the 1995 version with Emma Thompson) over the weekend. What a wonderful film! I feel like I hadn’t seen it before, but I know that is impossible. The cottage in this film is especially wonderful. I love the light slate blue walls, painted floors, wainscoting, yellow rugs and vases of…

These white paper lanterns from CB2 are battery powered and 11” inches across. And they’re 50% off at only $3.95 each. I bought a few to possibly hang in the oak trees outside our wedding venue. Imagine them tied up with yellow satin ribbon. If that doesn’t work out, I think they’d be just as…

I’ve received a couple requests from readers this summer for advice on where to stay and what to see in San Francisco. This is such a great city to visit, it’s hard to narrow my recommendations down to a short list. Here are a few picks: Where to stay I haven’t stayed in many hotels…

This weekend was so quiet and relaxing! Compared to our normal jam-packed weekends, Rob and I were practically hermits these last two days. Friday, we came home a little late from work. After our really long and busy week it was so nice to just have a quiet evening in our PJ’s with some bean…

Admittedly, I’m always a sucker for BBC sitcoms. As Time Goes By reruns are a favorite and I grew up laughing to Faulty Towers hijinks. My newest obsession is Coupling. It’s been on BBC America every night at 10 pm this week. It’s a little racy, but not raunchy, and super clever. I even caught…

This has been one crazy week! With a bunch of co-workers in town from across the country, Rob and I have been living it up. It’s been fun, but I’d be glad to have a quiet evening at home in my PJs tonight. In the last four days, I’ve eaten in 9 restaurants. Including gourmet…

I’ve got an all day business meeting to host today (and, no, I’m not wearing a red blazer to it. I’m wearing my new periwinkle blue BCBG wrap dress). The good news is that it ends with dinner at Townhall. Yum. See you tomorrow!

According to the Colbert Report interview with Evan Osnos I watched last night, I need to add cashmere to my list of forbidden eco-destroying items. Apparently, US demand for affordable cashmere sweaters has lead to a big increase in the number of goats in Northern China and those goats are turning the landscape into a…

By popular demand, here’s the photo of my high-waisted white skirt outfit from yesterday. This photo was taken outside of Blowfish, my favorite after-work sushi restaurant. The Sweet Leilani cocktails and pyramid of tartare are so delicious!
