Inspired: Pingg

Inspired: Pingg

Each month, I send out invitations to the Ladies Activity Club party using evite. And each month, I curse at evite’s wobbly interface, restricted design features and cheesy ads. I hate evite. Why wasn’t there a better alternative? Its such a simple concept.

So, I heard about Pingg.com today and was thrilled. The designs are nice and the interface is simple. No Country Crock coupons or dancing clown icons in sight! I haven’t used it yet for my invitations, but I’m going to test it out this weekend. Have you tried it?

I have a love/hate relationship with evite. I’ve been a user for almost 8 years now. I have about 1200 evites in my account…

I hate their new “user friendly” UI changes they’ve made in the past year. Lay off the javascript evite developers!

evite is what everyone uses these days…. maybe pingg will be the new standard in the future!

I’ve used Pingg a couple times now and love it. No ads, integrated maps, and an easy-to-see invite list. Love it.

We used Pingg for our wedding reception invitation and it was fantastic. It’s so great to be able to track who has opened the invitation and who has read it but not responded.

I’ve had a lot of trouble with the combination of Evite and friends who use Blackberry’s. A lot of the time, I couldn’t even tell that they had read the invitation. If you use Pingg, please come back and give us an update!

    Oooh. Looks lovely.

I was just about to register – and thought of some questions.

One thing I like about eVite is that… having been a registered member for years – I don’t get any spam email from them. Does anyone know if the same holds true for Pingg?
I use my primary email for evite… I’m leary about doing that for another service. But everything else looks great.

    Any experience… please share.
    Thanks.

the graphics alone do it for me. Evite just feels so cliche with all of their invites. It’s the little things.

we just returned from the graduation party i had for my husband. it was a casual pool party, a perfect event for pingg. i loved the invite i chose and so did all my friends. SO easy to use, way better than evite.

I am actually wondering where you found the rattan-covered decanter and glasses you posted about. I was searching for some on Google, and your blog popped up! 🙂

    Thanks!

Love it – I was just thinking about sending out an Evite for a baby shower. These are SO much nicer. Surprising that no one thought of this earlier!
