I was browsing vintage wallpaper designs over at Secondhand Rose when I came across this chinoiserie darling. I love the mix of dark blue, green, jade, cream and burgundy in this pattern! Wouldn’t it be a great scheme for a bathroom? Imagine all that white porcelain with dark blue walls, jade towels and red accents.…

My love affair with ruffled blouses continues! There is just something about the structured collar, puff sleeves and ruffles that does wonders for those with…let’s call it “slender”…figures. These are anti-twiggy, pro-curves shirts! That’s perhaps why they sell lots of them in tween stores like Delias. This black and white striped version is too cute.…

This white porcelain lamp is on sale at Pier One for $99. I think it would be perfect for an elegant desk. Ooo, or a bedroom. Wouldn’t you love to have a guest bedroom with these lamps? I’m imagining a room with dark brown walls and an all white bed. Pure visitor bliss! Keep dreaming…

We’ve had one of Rob’s old college friends staying with us the last few days. Matt arrived on Sunday for a chemistry conference and leaves today. It’s one of the perks of living in San Francisco: lots of friends come through town for conferences and business. Plus, it’s a great excuse to play hostess and…

Summer is here in San Francisco. As much as I love fall, it is nice to have a few warm days in the city. Since that fog could come rolling back at any minute, it’s important to dress for anything even when it is warm: DVF Skirt – I am in love with the sea…

Jonathan Adler (home of many lovely things we can’t afford) has just launched a new series of dinnerware. And it is affordable! Just $125 for a 16 piece (4 place) set! This blue and silver pattern is my favorite. There is also a chartreuse set and one with orange dots. Of course you would also…

This leopard print scarf is only $6 from Spiegel. I love mixing a leopard print scarf with a basic jeans, black or brown outfit. It’s a great way to go for the animal prints that are so in this season without looking like you are on safari. Especially good when worn as a headband!

I have a hard time believing it’s been five years since the attacks of September 11th. As much as I am trying to avoid all the terror-hype programs on TV, I can’t help but feel very sad on this anniversary. Rob and I were in New York a few years ago and had a chance…

Hooray for redecoration! Our boring front hallway has gone from drab to fab in just…four days? More if you count the months we (we = Trent) worked on restoring the mirror. Here’s how the hallway looked just before we started painting. There were two candle sconces and a coat rack in here but it was…

On Friday, I always say that I have a relaxing weekend ahead. On Monday, I am always amazed at how much we did in just a few short days. This weekend was a prime example. I said “Finally! A week in San Francisco with nothing to do!” in my last post on Friday. Here’s what…
