Inspired: Everyone Says I Love You
I watched one of my favorite Woody Allen movies last night: Everyone Says I Love You. I am so crazy about this film. I wish I could just climb through the TV screen and live in the character’s world. Since that isn’t possible, here are a couple resolutions:
- Get very rich…buy fancy apartment in New York.
- Listen to 1930’s and 40’s jazz standards all the time.
- Force all the children I know to perform musical routines that match their Halloween costumes.
- Go to Venice again.
- Spend Christmas at the Ritz in Paris.
- Have a big family.
- Host a Groucho Marx party with mandatory mustaches and eyebrows.
In case you haven’t seen the movie: I recommend watching this clip, this clip or this clip immediately.

I’ll have to watch this. I just watched Annie Hall for the first time because of your posts about it.
OMG – I thought I was the only one that loves, loves, loves this movie. I can watch Ed Norton do the “My Baby Just Cares for Me” over and over again. Good inspiration!
This was my long reigning favorite Woody movie. It was also the first one I ever watched, so it has a special place in my heart.
I watched this recently too! I love the son who reads the National Review, and the sweet relationship between Woody Allen & Goldie Hawn. Three cheers.
Wow! How is it possible that I’ve never seen this movie!!! I’m going to rent it ASAP!
Emily,
I have not been exposed to these great older movies! Those clips were so wonderful! Will you please post a list of your top 10 or 20 older movies so I can start watching them please! I am so excited to start!
1996 qualifies as an “older movie?” Jeeze, I’m ancient! I’ll put together my list soon 😉
Uh, some of my favorite movies are from the 30’s- how old does that make me? 🙂
I’m gonna steal the idea and do a movie post of my own!
I love that movie.
