Memphis Highlights: Graceland

Graceland was the whole motivation behind the Memphis trip. The Presley home a pilgrimage long desired by Elvis-fan Jackie. Although, I’m not much of an Elvis fanatic myself, it definitely was a fun experience. We started our tour with the house. A fairly modest home in itself – but decked out in the worst late 1970’s style money could buy: green shag carpet on the ceiling, walnut cabinets, electric stove, yellow glitter basement, faux fur couches, wood paneling, the works!

And we got passes to a handful of “bonus” exhibits about his car collection, movie career, etc. Plus, a somewhat abandoned karaoke room of which Jackie partook:
