Weekend Round:Up: Parties Galore
As bad as it is for the drought situation, I have to admit I’ve been loving these winter heat waves. We had more fantastic mid-70’s temperatures which puts the whole city in a good mood.
I started the weekend with the “Feast Fit for an Architect” dinner party. Mmm…this was probably the best food I’ve made for a party. I’ll give you a complete run down in a separate post. Great conversation, tasty food and a rousing game of Scene-it. Good times!
Saturday morning: oatmeal, coffee and dishes. Lots of dishes since we don’t have a dishwasher. Pretty soon, it was time to head down to SOMA for a baby shower. The party was held at the club room on the 19th floor of Avalon Mission Bay. Swanky, with an amazing view of the city. The hostesses decorated with white bouquets, brown and blue cupcakes and m&m’s. Quiche, salads, fruit and scones for lunch. No games. A lovely shower.
Back at home in the afternoon, I zoned out with a few episodes of Weeds until Margaret came over. We went for dinner at Woodhouse Fish Company, read some Broke-Ass Stuart and watched a video. Fun to just hang out and relax.
I slept a long time that night and didn’t wake up until 10 on Sunday morning. I needed the rest! Breakfast of oatmeal, coffee, turkey bacon and apples. Before lunch, we took the bike out to enjoy the great weather. Rob and I rode 20 miles, over Twin Peaks to Stern Grove down to Fort Funston and Daly City before coming back along the beach. Gorgeous day!
In the afternoon, we took the subway downtown. The city was nice and empty with the big game on TV. We ran a few errands and did a little shopping. Back at home to watch The Office, wash more dishes and eat tostadas made with the leftovers from Friday. Yum!
