Weekend Round-Up: Around the Bay

This weekend started with an office party at Cha Cha Cha on Mission Street. Pitchers of sangria and plenty of calamari, not too shabby! Rob and I caught a cab home around 10 and turned in shortly thereafter.

We woke up early on Saturday morning because Rob had to go to his NERT training. After dropping him off at USF, I drove to Napa to see my friend Nicole. We took her dog for a quick hike through an oak forest. After that we drove up the valley, stopping at Dean & Deluca to pick up picnic supplies. We bought a bottle at St. Clement Vineyards and sat out on their patio. So lovely!

We explored downtown St. Helena after our lunch, stopping in at Woodhouse Chocolate and Baksheesh. My favorite was estate jeweler, Patina. From there, we went home for a quick rest and then back out to the J. Crew outlet. I officially finished my fall shopping with the purchase of gray tweed slacks and a navy purse.

Nicole and I finished our day out with a movie: Sydney White (I loved it, details TK). Fish tacos back at her house for dinner.

On Sunday morning, I woke up feeling pretty sick. My itchy rash had spread and was joined by a sore throat and fever. At 9:00, I drove back to the city. Back at the apartment, I took a bunch of medicine and deliberated on whether or not to go to a doctor. Of course, my crummy insurance company wasn’t that helpful. Their advice was to gargle with salt water and try to get a doctor’s appointment this week.

So it was off to bed with my fever. I slept, had lunch, slept, had dinner, watched the Big Lebowski in HD and slept some more. Pretty exciting stuff 😉
