Reading: Daniel Deronda

I just love a thick Victorian novel full of drawn out character interactions and society scandals. I’m reading Daniel Deronda right now. All the references to women’s archery make me like it even more:

“Who can deny that bows and arrows are among the prettiest weapons in the world for feminine forms to play with? They prompt attitudes full of grace and power, where that fine concentration of energy seen in all markmanship, is freed from associations of bloodshed.”

If it would ever stop raining, I’d love to get out to the park to practice my own pretty markmanship!
