Wedding Wednesday: Pants?

Wedding Wednesday: Pants?

During this hunt for a second-dress, Rob keeps mentioned that I should change into pants after the big lace dress. “You look great in pants!”

I had shrugged off the idea…until seeing a lovely white ruffle shirt in the latest Anthropologie catalog. I’m not sure I have the guts for it, but here’s what I’d wear:

Blouse – Lovely and ruffled. I’m jealous today of the model’s hair pulled up.
Trousers – A terribly expensive, superbly cut pair of classic ivory tweed trousers. They don’t exist online yet, so this is my funky PhotoShop version.
Shoes – Satin t-straps to peek out below the cuffs.
Bracelets – I love these simple Egyptian bangles.
Earrings – From Anthropologie.

The mock-up doesn’t really do it justice. In person, the textures would help it to be very elegant and feminine.

I have always thought that something very tailored and extremely expensive looking would be very elegant for a wedding. I think too few women consider what a very tailored suit or trousered outfit could do for them. If you can find the right trousers, I think it would be amazing!

If you think pants are too bold, you can also pair the blouse with a white pencil skirt and still keep the tailored look.

That would be super daring and cool. I want to see pictures!

I wore pants for the entire day! I’m not really a dress-girl so I didn’t want to change that on my wedding day. My husband was so happy when he saw me, he said it was completely ‘me’.

I think that is a lovely idea, very elegant. I would try and channel Katherine Hepburn for that look – it would be divine and very much in keeping with the dress…

I have to chime in on this one and say it’s an excellent idea. I also find it quite endearing that the pants are Rob’s suggestion.

This is a really good idea… you can have more fun dancing too! I’m just enjoying the idea of having my bottom covered with multiple layers of fabric at my wedding.

    Love your wedding Wednesday feature!

    What a thought !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Perhaps a spendid Punjabi costume with some glorious yet tactful and not overdone bead work/embroidery.

Imagine how comfortable a finely tailored ensemble would feel !
