Things I love today: New plaster bust
Since San Francisco is full of highly overpriced antiques, it makes sense to work directly with more affordable antique dealers in places like upstate New York. Thanks to Ruby Lane, I am the proud soon-to-be owner of a 9″ tall plaster bust. All for the bargain price of $30 from Wedundidit Antiques in Camden, NY. In the city, this bust would have probably cost me $300. No details about who the bust depicts but I do know that it was cast in 1917 by Frances Bartnett. Now, only if I could have a huge mansion with a sculpture gallery like Mr. Darcy.

and who introduced you to rubylane?? oh that’s right. and you are crazy, who buys random busts??
Props to you for the RubyLane lead. And as far as buying random busts…it’s only $30! You are going to be so jealous when it arrives!
how big is this thing? and where does it go? i know, they do have great deals, there are like 29 brooches i am interested in now!
It’s only 9 inches tall. My plan is to put in the front hall as a “decorative” item along with some books. That way anyone who walks in the house will think “Looks like a smarty-pants lives here” 🙂
Which brooches do you like?
