Things I love today: Tangerine
I was so glad to be back in the city last night! I loved our country vacation, but city life is definitely more my style! After unpacking and taking a long shower, Rob and I walked around the neighborhood in search of a restaurant. Most restaurants were closed for the 4th of July or were places we’d been a million times before.
Luckily, Tangerine on Sanchez and 16th was open and we were seated right away. Rob and I had been for brunch (delicious!) before but were a bit intimidated for dinner. On Tuesdays they offer 20% off the whole menu, making it even more appealing. The restaurant had been unusually crowded that day and they had run out of a few items on the menu. But aside from this glitch, everything else was fantastic.
Rob had the roasted pork loin and I ordered the chicken and scallion cake appetizer (sort of a really fancy chicken satay) and the scallop, avocado and papaya salad. I love ordering two appetizers for dinner, you get to sample such creative dishes! Everything was delicious, although the salad could have used something a little more “crunchy” in the mix. This is a great restaurant for a group of friends, visiting relatives or a quiet date!
