Things I love today: Vintage for the kitchen

Vintage style rules in my kitchen. Practically all my pans are Williams-Sonoma circa the 1970’s. I have measuring cups from my grandmother, spoons from my great aunt, two kinds of antique champagne glasses and silver platters passed down through the generations. I love it all!

I think this mostly has to do with the fact that I was moving into my first real apartment at the same time that my grandmother was moving out of her house. Plus, I tend to be a minimalist in when it comes to cooking gadgets. I don’t own a blender, toaster or cuisinart. I really should visit What’s Cookin’ on Divisadero some day for more antique kitchen goodies.

This lemon bird juicer (an odd choice of words that makes it sound designed for juicing the rare Orin Limonium) is a perfect match for my vintage kitchen. Williams-Sonoma just reintroduced this classic design for $5 a pop. It would be a perfect pairing with a lemonade pitcher as a housewarming gift. Thanks for the tip Trent!
