Movie Report: The Baxter

The Baxter is a film about the “other guy;” the Mr. Wrong who always ends up dumped so the girl can reconnected with her true love. Elliot is a nice-guy catalyst for other people’s “happily ever after” in this quirky independent movie that Rob and I rented last night.

Michael Showalter is perfect as Elliot, which makes sense since he wrote and directed the film. Everyone has fabulous hair and lovely geek-chic costumes. I even liked Michelle Williams in this film, which is pretty rare. I definitely recommend renting it! It’s the perfect film for a fall evening at home with a cozy dinner of pork chops, apple relish and acorn squash!
