Advent Calendar: December 18
Shoot! I forgot my camera today. It was loaded with tons of photos of the city decorated for the holidays and of our three parties this weekend. I promise I’ll get them posted tomorrow.
In the meantime, today’s advent calendar image represents one of my favorite holiday traditions: Christmas cards! I think I’ve finally finished all my cards (a whopping 95 in total). We’ve received about 20 cards from friends and family so far. Checking our tiny mailbox each day for new cards almost feels like an advent calendar.

I love sending Christmas cards and I love getting them as well. It takes so much time for people to sit down and write one that I really consider it a gift from that person. I save them all year until the new ones start to come. It makes you feel like somebody loves you in July if you still have a little stack of lovely cards from Christmas.
I agree! I try to write at least a few paragraphs of personal notes on each card so that it has some substance…even though it results in some pretty serious hand cramps!
