Loved stumbling across this 1938 film. Cary Grant is young…
Recipe: Peppermint Cake
Sunset Magazine has this adorable peppermint cake on its cover this month. The recipe is posted online but they also say that you can make it with a store bought angel food cake. Just make whipped cream and decorate the cake with crushed candy canes right before serving for a very festive dessert. (Oh, and find a perfect green glass cake stand to go along with it of course).
I wonder if it would taste as good as it looks?

Angel food cake is my all time favorite, but never store-bought! A box mix is very reliable.
Interesting! I don’t know that I’ve ever had homemade angel food cake.
I’ve have that cake plate.
I 100% agree – Homemade angel food cake is the only way to go. I just might have to make you some at Christmas time.
Cake stands are always so hard to find!
Miss Em! This is just the cutest! 🙂
I had a cake that looked like this one last night, but inside it was chocolate with cholate chunks in it! Delicious. I don’t have the recipe, but just your favorite chocolate cake recipe, with a few chocolate chips added to the batter, cool, whip cream topping and the crushed peppermint! Hurray!
