Things I Love Today: Summer Weekend

I’m so excited for the upcoming labor day weekend! The city is fun when it’s hot, but it gets really smelly after a couple days of heat (how do New Yorker’s manage all summer long?).

So Rob and I are off to the “country” tomorrow afternoon. We’re spending the weekend in SLO and here’s my list of favorites in no particular order:

• Watermelon
• Watermelon lemonade
• Honeydew so sweet that it must be bad for you
• Barbecue
• Flip flops
• Ample parking
• Cheap movie tickets
• Mineral spring hot tubs by the hour
• Good Mexican food
• My parents
• Old Port Beach
• Penney, the wet wonder dog
• Quiet nights
• Big Sky Cafe
• Shopping at SF stores, like Ambiance and Therapy, without the crowds
• Potato salad
• Chicken salad
• Linnaea’s Cafe
• Relaxed wine tasting
• Drive in movie theater
• Quirky Morro Bay

Fun! It’s so nice to go visit San Luis Obispo for a few days, but at the end I’m always glad to come back to my foggy, smelly San Francisco.
