What to Wear: Naro DVF Dress
One of my favorite What to Wear types is accessorizing something that has already been purchased. Lorrie wrote in with this accessory request:
I am attending a wedding in Seaport, NH, on July 5th and just received my DVF dress that I got on sale for almost half price! I wanted to find something maybe strappy for shoes, a cover-up, and accessories. I will be wearing this dress to two functions (one a wedding, another a dinner dance) but can dress it the same for both. Can you help?
This dress can easily go from a Saturday night wedding to a Sunday brunch. Here are two variations: one for the evening, one for the day:
Dress – DVF always knows how to make a dress a perfect match of comfort and fit. Lorrie got this on sale from the DVF website.
Evening Shoes – The length of the dress looks a tiny bit tricky. Go for a platform sandal that will ensure you are nice and tall. The brown on this pair from BCBG ties in nicely with the cord around the neckline.
Wrap – Go for an off-white jacket that belts at the waist to keep your lines smooth with this dress if it a casual wedding. This Anthro version would be adorable with a tank and jeans later. If the event is more formal, trade it for a basic ivory pashmina.
Clutch – Bronze snakeskin.
Earrings – Go a little subtle with the jewelry. This dress doens’t need much. Pair these brass and pearl earrings with a simple vintage brass bracelet.

Belt – Replace the sash with a wide brown belt.
Bracelet – A carved wood bangle.
Sunglasses – With retro flair.
Bag – In cream. Forever 21 has some pretty decent looking purses right now.
Have fun at your summer events Lorrie!
