Welcome Back!

Welcome Back!

Good morning internet, how are you? I’m so excited to be home and to share all the news from the past four weeks.

Honestly, I must be the luckiest person in the world the way everything has turned out. From the rehearsal dinner, to the wedding, to the show, to the entire honeymoon…it has all been simply amazing! Rob and I are pinching ourselves; we should probably start buying lottery tickets.

The only negative has been the US economic troubles during basically the exact same four week period…but even that has a bright side. It made our homegrown budget wedding and honeymoon seem that much smarter.

Over the next couple weeks, I’ll do my best to give you all the details. There are so many great things to tell you about. We’ll start at the very beginning and work through the whole story in chronological order. These photos are a few of the Polaroids from the cocktail hour. The hats and stick-on mustaches make them a little goofy and oh so charming. You can see the rest online here.

In the meantime, I’m enjoying this “4th trimester” of wedding planning. I’m no longer a fiance or a bride or a honeymooner. I’m just Emily. Only with a new last name, a china cabinet to shop for, boxes of things to sort through and a whole lot of thank you notes to write.

Is it wrong to have thoughts along the line of ‘I should get married so I can have a wedding’?

Sounds like yours went perfectly – congratulations on pulling it off!

I also was just married and I liked what you said about your 4th trimester. I felt all that hustle and bustle and to do and now I can just… be.

Best wishes in your new marriage!
