Recipe: Cheese on Toast
You can’t go wrong with crusty bread and melty cheese. The classic French combination Croque Monsieur brings ham to the party. And the British Welsh Rarebit adds beer and Worcestershire to the mix.
Either way, when paired with a big green salad they make for a perfect winter dinner.

Yum! 🙂
I couldnt agree more. Two of my very favorite things!
My tradition for Christmas eve dinner is fondue with emmenthaler and gruyere and crusty bread, green salad with a dijon vinaigrette and a lovely Bordeaux.
Any leftover baguette makes a nice French toast the next day, layered with ham and gruyere and drizzled with pure maple syrup. A vanilla bean and grated cinnamon stick make all the difference in the French toast batter!
mm yum! Looking at delicious food photos is a such a tease around lunchtime.
Two of my favorite things!! Ah the little things in life make me so happy!! That picture makes me hungry!
