What to Wear: Date at the Jazz Club
Anne wrote in with asking for help with an outfit for a Valentine’s Day date this week at the brand new San Francisco Jazz Center in Hayes Valley:
How about an outfit for a Valentine’s Day concert at the SF jazz center? Show will probably end late and we will end up getting Thai food around the corner as all of Hayes Valley will be booked up. Would love your suggestions!
Dress – A modern shift dress in black and white is a perfect compliment to a night of jazz in this posh new venue, on sale for $140 at Lord & Taylor. If that breaks the bank, here’s a $40 similar graphic shift dress.
Coat – Wool coat in a lush dark pink color is fun for Valentine’s Day. On sale for $220 and a good bright investment for the rest of San Francisco’s cold spring season.
Tights – I like the Hue Super Opaque brand for a dark black pair.
Shoes – Cole Haan’s Nike collection is pricey, but their shoes are so comfortable for walking all over Hayes Valley. This Juliana pump is $149 on sale.
Earrings – These fuscia and gold drops are on sale for $20 at Anthropologie.
Clutch – A $23 foldover gold clutch is a basic.
Scarf – An extra layer is always handy in San Francisco. Add this basic black pashimina to the mix.

Aww, my comment got eaten. Love this whole look and I am sad that the gorgeous coat seems to be sold out, I will have to see if they have something similarly colorful at my local mall. Where I may also have to look for those earrings, thanks so much for the inspiration!
Shoot! Here are a couple alternative coat options for you in the same price range and color.
