Inspired: Vertigo

I’m halfway through Hitchcock’s Vertigo. It’s especially fun because it’s set with such great detail in San Francisco. All my favorites are featured: the Legion of Honor, Mission Dolores & the Golden Gate Bridge.

The 1958 apartments are also a delight. I really like Midge’s mid-century pad. It would be perfectly respectable on Apartment Therapy today. And you have to love the concept of sitting by a picture window in Nob Hill and illustrating frilly lingerie all day.

    I’ve never seen that one. I always wanted to, but I’m a little afraid of heights myself and so I’ve not had the courage 🙂

    But, you Miss Emily are a climber so it probably didn’t bother you too much. 🙂

    Halfway? I couldn’t imagine being able to stop myself from finishing it! It’s one of my most favorite Hitchcock films.

    Tiff- you should definitely check it out. I’m afraid of heights and it doesn’t bother me in the least.

    Oooh, I am a huge Hitchcock fan and this movie and Rear Window are at the top of my list! I love Grace Kellys wardrobe in Rear Window…

    And speaking of Midge, I recently posted about some Anne Taintor post-it notes on which the model looks uncannily like Midge!

    So cool that you know what all those places look like in real life! Theres actually a website somewhere that compares the views at the time Vertigo was filmed and currently.
