We had our November LAC party last Tuesday, just in…
We’re Going to Turkey, Greece and Croatia!
Our year of travel adventures continues! Rob and I just booked tickets into Turkey in late March and out of Croatia in mid-May.
The plan is to wind our way from Istanbul through Greece and up to Croatia – with a mountain bike in tow. We’ll be working remotely and staying in apartments during the trip. Friends here in San Francisco will stay in our apartment while their home is being remodeled.
You guys always have such great travel recommendations, so I would love to hear advice for where to go and what to see in Turkey, Greece and Croatia during our eight week trip!

Wow! I love reading your travel posts. I've never been out of the US but once to Mexico.
What is your general field of work that allows you to work from home? That sounds exciting!
Rob works as a computer engineer for a company that is entirely remote (his boss is in Moscow right now and his team is Costa Rica and London) and I'm working as a freelance communications advisor. It's amazing how technology enables this kind of travel!
Wow! I've been so intrigued by Croatia. I look forward to those posts!
Thanks for answering Emily! That is great that you're able to travel and work! I can't wait to read about it 🙂
What kind of things do you want to see in Croatia? May is a fab time, as hardly any tourists but the water is not yet warm enough to swim (unless you're brave). Zagreb and Zadar are both wonderful that time of year – and you can also see Plitvice Lakes from Zadar.
I love reading your blog…..first time commenter.
I was in Split, Korcula and Dubrovnik last July. It was amazing.
I loved Korcula and wished we had been able to stay longer. We caught ferries between places and stayed in great apartments.
The seafood was so fresh and yummy.
Cant wait for your adventures!
looking forward to living vicariously through you. collect recipes and take pics of food and textiles pleeeeze.
Wonderful!
When my brother lived in London for 5 years he traveled all over the world and his time in Turkey was his very favorite!
I hope you can post a lot while you're gone!
I did that same route but in reverse last summer. What we did not realize before we booked our plane tickets was how time consuming it would be to travel from Greece to Croatia. We lost about 2 days travelling by ferry and bus from Dubrovnik to Athens and ultimately Crete (and spent 8 hours in Italy). We flew from Athens to Istanbul. Hassles aside, it was a fantastic time. We didn't have time to explore more of Croatia but it is gorgeous and Crete is fantastic. If you have more questions, I would be happy to respond.
