Things I love today: White Flower Farms catalog
It dawned on me last night that the reason I feel spring has sprung is that I just received my White Flower Farms catalog. This nursery is the end-all-be-all source for exotic plant varieties and massive amounts of daffodil bulbs. Have a 10 acre estate that needs new shrubs?…need to update your begonia collection?…looking for the perfect flowering tree?…this is the place for you.
Of course, I live in the middle of San Francisco and have no garden. I can barely keep my house plants alive. But I still love receiving this catalog each spring. It’s fun to imagine planting these crazy varieties and managing to keep them alive.
PS: Why does Blogger return “housewifeliness” on a spell check of “house plants.” Is housewifeliness even a word? Is it an insult? Is it a compliment? Why does their spell check know this word but not the word “blog?”

you could totally do all this in… north carolina!! you could probably even get some fertilizers from T and I could genetically modify it so your tulips smell like grapefruit.. or somthing 🙂
Lovely! I would very much like to live in North Carolina on a scary-genetically-
modified-giant-man-
eating-grapefruit-
smelling-tulip-farm. Sounds peachy.
Are you sore from swimming last night? I’m beat.
