Now that Halloween has passed, the holidays are just around…
Freshen up your light fixtures
Pretty much anyone who has lived in apartments has at one time suffered through ugly lighting fixtures. It seems that all my apartments over the last few years have had the same variation of the “etched glass square” bolted to one ceiling. My current bedroom fixture features stalks of wheat. Uhg.
Time for a change. Pottery Barn Teen (purveyor of goods for spoiled 14 year-olds) offers a cheap and fun solution. These textured linen light shades clip right on to your light bulb and are far more attractive. The shades come in five colors and each one has a tiny dangling bead for extra flair. White would be nicely reminiscent of a paper lantern. At $39.00 this is one affordable redecoration for spring.
