I'm a sucker for the Christmas flavors of pretty much…
Drumroll please…
Oh, fudge. Last night’s appointment revealed some surprising new information. The good news is that my hip joint and related tendons are fine. The bad news is that it looks like there is a problem with one of my vertebrae being fused to my pelvis on one side and not fused on the other side. This is causing some kind of imbalance, etc, etc, etc. I have another appointment for x-rays this week to pin it down.
Anyways, that’s all pretty boring. Here’s where it gets absurd: as part of my treatment I am going to have to wear this bizarre “Sacroiliac Belt” around my hips. They come in two versions, skinny and ugly or wide and ugly. This is a going to be a definite challenge finding outfits that fully hide either version. But on the plus side, I have reason to go buy a bunch of new clothes this weekend.
How do I get myself into these situations? I like Sam’s theory that it has to do with not eating enough caramel pot de creme from Zuni! For her entry in yesterday’s contest, Sam wins a bottle of empowermint hand soap. Sam, email me your mailing address for the prize!

You can totally work the skinny and ugly into skinny and no so ugly. Some dye and creative thinking about the “stabilizer” and “voila” you have this season’s trendy belt!

Now that is stretching it a bit! But gold star for creativity. 🙂
