To Do: Barber of Seville

To Do: Barber of Seville

Rob and I went to the opera last night to see Barber of Seville performed. We had great tickets, second row in on the top balcony, and actually could see the orchestra for once.

This was an amazing performance of Rossini’s comic opera. It was set in a slightly modern way with a really innovative rotating house as a set. Plus, Nathan Gunn (the so-called Opera Heartthrob) was playing Figaro. He kept his shirt on but John Osborn as the count wasn’t so lucky. The performance was very fresh and full of mayhem, the music was divine and the intermission Irish coffee was strong. If you have a chance, I highly recommend getting tickets before it ends the last week of November.

I love the opera here in San Francisco. I wish I could live at the opera house…either there or at the Legion of Honor or Gump’s. I should really sign up for a tour one of these days.
