What to Wear: Bridesmaid Accesories
Devoted reader and expat, Sara, asked for help finding jewelry and shoes to go with a bridesmaid dress. “I would love to see what your ideas are for shoes and jewelry, both for the wedding, and for wearing it again later.” I love requests! Sara also asked for a “reality” version with a budget around $300 and a “fantasty” version with no limits. You can click on each photo to see it larger.
Fantasy:
Earrings – Pearl and diamond drops for $1,500. Still pretty subdued since this is a wedding after all, you don’t want to show up with giant gems blazing!
Cardigan – On sale from Marc Jacobs for $795.
Bracelet – Gorgeous belle epoque bracelet with 225 rose cut diamonds and natural pearls. $10,750.
Shoes – Perky Kate Spade sandals in brown satin with a bow for $275.
Total – $13,320
Reality:
Earrings – Lantern drops from Anthropologie for $38.
Bracelets – Two of the small gold tube bracelets from the Met for $40 each.
Cardigan – In bright papaya from J.Crew for $68.
Shoes – Enzo peep-toe pumps in a soft metallic color for $88.95.
Total – $274.95
Surprisingly, I kind of like the “reality” version better. I think it is the coral and gold colors with the brown dress. Although, I could really go for that pearl and diamond bracelet if I had an extra $10,000 lying around.

I really like the bright J. Crew cardigan, so I vote for reality too. That almost never happens, does it? 🙂
yay how fun!! i love the earrings you have in the reality one, do they usually have stuff like that in the store or only online from anthropologie? and the shoes!
thanks :)d
I think the stores are pretty consistent with the online shop when it comes to jewelry. You can always have someone call the store to check.
Love the shoes for both but the reality is more cost effective.
for the shoes, have you heard about this? i just saw an article about these heel inserts, i wonder if they are as good as they claim
