What to Wear: Vacation!
Woo hoo! I’m going on vacation in…approximately six weeks? Okay, I may be jumping the gun on this one. I just don’t have anything that is appropriate for North Carolina and need to do a lot of shopping:
Bikini – Delias has some really cute patterns in my favorite halter-and-shorty combination.
Shirt – My parents use these oxford shirts from Land’s End as an unofficial uniform. I may have to buy one of my own.
Shorts – I can hear Jean laughing now. I don’t wear shorts. But they are growing on me after months of wearing these in hot pink to therapy.
Sweater – It is going to be March after all.
Flip flops – Cute with red accents and a gold ring.
Earrings – At $7, these beaded hoops can be exposed to sand and water.
Rope bracelet – Because this is what everyone wears on the east coast, right! I obviously researched by watching Dawson’s Creek.
Lotions – Those sizes are accurate. I need a solid 20 ounces of SPF 50 sunblock and another 20 ounces of Build-a-Tan in order to leave the house in anything less than a turtleneck and pants these days.
Supplies – A perfect beach bag filled with a book I saw someone else reading on the bus, sunglasses and a vintage scarf.
What do you think Jean? Will I fit in with the Carolinians?

Darling Miss Em!
I think I better read that book. It has a lovely title and I adore slow moving character driven, inside your head kind of books. But I loved this review from your link to Amazon.

Wow. I am frightened that I could’ve died without having read this book.
I think that is cute and funny. Have you ever read Gilead by Marilynne Robinson? Or Crossing to Safety by Wallace Stegner? Those are my two favorite novels, just beautiful!!!
Wait, were is the madras bag from? I am SO East Coast. LOL!
I could only find a picture of that bag online. But American Eagle has one that is pretty similar for sale.
I think you will fit right in.
Please tell me you are going to Replacements. When you get back I will want a full report…documentation eve.
