Things I Love Today: Blue Velvet Sofa

I had a “love at first click” moment this morning. Jill from ink*drop posted photos from the Charlotte Moss Townhouse. I started drooling right when this blue velvet (suede?) sofa appeared.

It must be some sort of pavlovian response left over from the summer I spent hunting for the perfect blue corduroy sofas with my parents (approximately age 7).

It’s too bad that I’m about to embark on a pre-doomed painting project in the living room this weekend (doomed because I know it will take much longer than I expect, that I’ll get tired of painting halfway through and that I’ll step in the paint tray like always). Our soon to be muted yellow walls (like this white house shot form the 1960’s, sort of) won’t be a good match with a blue sofa.

Put the painting tray up on a couple of phone books, perhaps making it less likely that you will step directly into it. 🙂

Good idea! There literally has never been a paint job where I didn’t step in the paint.

So happy to make you drool – I had the same reaction! & yes it was velvet. Good luck on your painting project. Hopefully the sunny yellow will make it easier.

That’s the thing that has me stymied about decorating: as soon as I pick one thing I like, I see something else I like that wouldn’t work with it at all. So congrats to you for making a decision and going with it.
