To Do: Fringe Festival
I haven’t been to a proper play in ages. Not since I took a theater course while living in Dublin. When the mood strikes I usually go to the opera or a big musical instead.
The San Francisco Fringe Festival may just break me out of my mold. For two weeks, this festival hosts avant garde and independent productions. Performers are actually chosen by lottery and have complete freedom with their shows.
Even better, the performances fit a busy schedule and a modest budget. Each show is 60 minutes or less and tickets are $8 to $11. I think I’ll wait a few days for reviews to come in before picking which to see.

Jill and I went nuts on the D.C. Fringe Festival.. it was awesome. I highly recommend 🙂
We saw Super Glossy.. and we met the girl afterwards and she said she was going to SF. I bet she’ll be at this festival. It was fun.
Super Glossy is at the festival! Would you recommend her show?
It was kinda nuts… but fun. A one woman show about the fashion/beauty magazine industry. She did a great job, but it is kinda intense. She was really nice to hang out with afterwards though!
sounds great, I’d check this out. also, you may want to check out the Shakespeare festival in Ashland, OR in October – so much fun and it a beautiful setting.
Aw, why wait for the reviews? Wouldn’t you take a chance on a show for another reason? Say, if they left you a really nice comment on your beautifully designed and distinctive blog?
You should note that You Go First not only lets other Fringe performers in the audience plug their shows, but invites bloggers to plug their blogs (or I can do it for you) to the entire room full of strangers. Just in case you’re interested. 😉
Ooo! I think “because they commented on my blog” is the best ever reason to see a show. I’m in!
