On Mud Island in Memphis you can dip your toes…
To Do: Von Iva at the de Young & More
Spring in the city means that you have to start paying close attention to your social calendar. There are just so many things to do! Here are a couple events to put on your planner:
April 4 – Von Iva at the De Young – One of my favorite San Francisco bands playing at one of my favorite museums this Friday! There’s also a fashion show and a poetry reading as part of the Friday Night series.
April 12 – Cherry Blossom Festival – Japantown celebrates spring with a street fair and parades.
April 29 – Bike Coalition Golden Wheel Awards – I received an invitation to this last night. It’s a great cause.
May 18 – Bay to Breakers – The 7 mile “race” from one side of the city to the other brings everyone together in costume silliness.
May 24 – Carnaval – It seems like every kid for 50 miles is in this parade dancing and singing!
May 31 – Black and White Ball – Yes, it’s expensive. But I’m willing to give up dinner out for two weeks to attend this one-of-a-kind gala!
And then street fair season really gets started in June…looks like we won’t be leaving town anytime soon!
