Honeymoon: Salt Lake City
Our plan was to stay in Tahoe for a few days after the wedding on our way to Sundance…but a very cold night camping in 28 degree weather at Donner Pass pushed us to head to Utah instead. We have a friend living in Salt Lake City and asked her if we could come stay. We made the long trek through Northern Nevada in a day. It was actually a little prettier than the horror stories we’d heard.
During our two nights in Salt Lake City we visited the downtown bookshop, hiked to Silver Lake in Cottonwood Canyon, drank Polygamy Porter, tried fry sauce, hot-tubbed, ate at Cafe Molise and learned how to properly cross the street with the aid of safety flags (and still were almost run down).

Awww, my hometown! Silver Lake is one of my favorite spots there!
Ha my home town too! My family has a cabin up big cottonwood canyon right by silver lake, it is a beautiful spot.
There is nothing on earth to compare with the creature that is the SLC driver (thank goodness!).
I would like to apologize for the horrid drivers in Utah.. they are just awful. Glad you went to some fun places though and survived to tell the tale! 🙂
Welcome to Utah! Almost run down? Nah. Can’t be. Never! No. Not in Utah.
