Honeymoon: First Day

Honeymoon: First Day

I love this tableau of bobby pins, false eyelashes, earrings, flowers, rings and the family bridal necklace from the morning after the wedding.

We spent our first night after the wedding at Cavallo Point in Sausalito. This brand new eco-luxe hotel uses converted military officer housing for the guest rooms. Our suite had a fireplace, cozy bathrobes, and an enormous bathroom. Very quiet and relaxing, although we were both way too amped from pulling off the wedding to get much rest.

With no pants the next morning, I had the choice of going to breakfast on the patio of the fancy hotel in my wedding dress or a pair or Rob’s jeans. So, I belted the jeans and pretended that my saggy baggy look was part of the fall oversized mensware trend. Rob thought it was pretty funny!

A quick note for brides-to-be: being married is far superior to getting married. Wedding planning has its fun moments – picking the colors, flowers, etc – but it can be amazingly stressful beyond that. Blerg… loved our wedding, didn’t particularly love planning it. If you’re in the process: hang in there, don’t sweat the small stuff and stay true to your own vision.

Still in Rob’s pants, we joined my family at their rented pier house for lunch and gift-opening. A quick stop at the apartment to unload wedding supplies and load up camping gear. On Sunday afternoon, we bid aideau to our fair city and hit the road for the next 30 days.

Thanks Emily. I haven’t been loving planning lately, so this is really good to hear.
And I too love that picture.

That’s the sweetest thing ever. You in his jeans, the next day, so cute. I remember completely forgetting to bring a bra with me for the next day and then just not sweating it, because I was married!!!! the feeling the next day is like the complete opposite of a hangover – so blissful…

Congrats to you both and thanks for sharing all of the pics and details that you have – everything looked incredible, and most importantly, you two look so darned happy!
