Honeymoon: Cocktail Hour
Each evening, as we returned from hikes to the campsite, we would listen to NPR’s news of the day in the car. With wine in origami cups and jalapeño olives, this was our daily “cocktail hour.”
It was about this time in Yellowstone that the economy really hit bottom. It was surreal to hear about daily dives in the stock market and the failure of my bank (WaMu) while on our honeymoon. But I was so glad to be hearing it at a $10 campsite instead of a luxury resort in Fiji. Our road-trip honeymoon turned out to be just right for the times!
Next up: the Grand Tetons – our favorite place of the whole trip – and Colorado. Have a great weekend.
