Inspired: As Time Goes By

Inspired: As Time Goes By

Is it strange to be completely obsessed with a British sitcom about septegenarians? (coming from someone who just professed her love for polishing silver, maybe not)

I’m crazy about As Time Goes By and would like very much to be able to climb through the TV into their cozy London home to have a cup of tea. I love everything about the place, the tidy living room with office and garden view, the small kitchen with a big table in the middle. It is my goal to have an urban home inspired by theirs at some point.

let me go to England and join you all for tea! Or Chardonnay since faithful viewers know that is a much served wine on the program.
I am so disturbed KQED is moving all episodes to KTEH. No cable in the bedroom….

You and me both. I love, love, love this show and was just whining to the husband the other night about how badly I want the entire series on DVD. So many wonderful British Comedies, but this and Good Neighbors are the top of the heap for me.

i’m 28 and i love this show. maybe it’s because i don’t have cable and i am forced to watch WETA. but there’s a nostalgia about it…even though i’ve been raised in DC all my life! i guess i should be watching MTV but whatever.

Don’t worry, you’re not the only one! I’ve been watching this show since I was a kid – from my tropical bungalow in Oz, it all looks so cosy and warm!

Update: I got proactive and just bought it for a steal on eBay! Thanks for inspiring me to finally go looking for it. 🙂

Jealous! I would literally not leave the house for a month if I had the whole set.

“Hey, hey…” as Alistair would say, I love this one too. After this one I discovered Judy Dench’s first series (1981-84) “A Fine Romance” that she did with her real husband, Michael Williams. I just finished watching all four series/seasons on Netflix. It’s sorta a different feel, except that they are both love stories without much lovey language or kissing going on.

I love As Time Goes By 🙂 one of my favorite series, thought I was the only one that would rent all the dvds. So sweet, makes me look forward to growing old with my charlie. A Fine Romance is good too, sweet to know that Judi’s husband would send her a rose every friday for over 30 years

I love this show and have seen every episode multiple times. I wish that we could dump some of the crime dramas and reality shows around here and do something original like this program… great writing and great acting.
