To Do: Hibiscus Tea

To Do: Hibiscus Tea

Cold hibiscus or mint tea is always great to have on hand for lazy days at home in the summer. These capped bottles from Ikea are just the thing for brewing in the fridge and a set of silver spoon straws adds to the fun.

Not only is hibiscus tea delicious, but it is also thought to help lower your cholesterol and blood pressure and has lots of vitamin C. I’ve got a weekend full of gocco-printing and iced tea-drinking ahead!

Sounds like a fun weekend ahead! I might have to try the tea. I have been making lemongrass iced tea lately- also yummy!

Those spoons. Those spoons, or their comrades at least, are my madeleines. My mother has a set. The spoon is in a heart shape. You drink through the straw. It was these spoons that first put me on notice that maybe my family wasn't normal.

Just the tea + sugar (hibiscus can be a little sour) and maybe some fresh mint if I'm feeling fancy 😉

Perhaps you would like to try my recipe for Hibiscus Tea–only I call it agua de la flor de jamaica–which is Spanish for "the water of the flower of Jamaica". A poetic name for a wonderful drink.
