Memphis: Bar-B-Q Shop
Many, many different opinions about which is the best BBQ restaurant in Memphis. No matter how highly praised, they all seem to look something like the Bar-B-Q Shop, though.
Luckily, I love rough exterior restaurants that hide some seriously genius pulled pork on grilled Texas toast inside. If you have a BBQ recommendation (or any Memphis tip) share it in the comments!

Emily, I'm a Memphian 🙂 Bar-B-Q Shop is good, but I would also recommend Central Bar-B-Q (the original off of Central Avenue) and Germantown Commissary … Rendevous gets a lot of hype, but is more of a tourist joint (in my opinion).
Other than barbeque, The Beauty Shop in Cooper Young (midtown) is really fun and eclectic … Priscilla (Presley) used to get her hair done there in the 60s, and now it's a chic little restaurant.

I'm from KC and have never been to Memphis, but if one of your BBQ stops serves Burnt Ends, I highly recommend them.
I highly recommend Tops BBQ. There are locations throughout the city. Really modest little dives, but the best barbecue this Tennessean native has ever had!
Are you planning to tour Graceland? It's interesting.
Great BBQ tips! And, yes, we have platinum tour tickets to Graceland!
I really enjoyed the pulled pork from Payne's BBQ and ribs from Cozy Corner. But the BEST thing I ate in Memphis was Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken.
