Recipe: Party Butters
The simplest touches sometimes make the biggest impact at a party. In between all my other prep, I decided to fancy up some butter for the rolls on a whim. Second to the ham, these simple butters got the most acclaim.
Honey Butter
1 stick of salted butter, softened
1 tablespoon of good quality honey
Zest from 1 orange and 1 lime
Herb Butter
1 stick of salted butter, softened
1 clove of garlic, microplaned
4 leaves of fresh basil, minced
4 stems of broad leaf parsley, minced
dash of pepper
For both, just mix and set in a small dish overnight for the next day’s party. Best when left to soften for an hour or so before serving with crispy, warm pain epi rolls from Acme (thank you Susan!).
