Things I Love Today: My New Hobby
It was really just a matter of time before I got sucked into Rob’s new musical fixation. He’s been taking ukulele lessons for the past four months and has become pretty good. Now he needs backup for his renditions of Something and that’s where I come in.
Last night, I became the proud owner of a gigantic acoustic bass guitar. Honestly, it’s about 4 1/2 feet long.
I think I may have uncovered my secret musical talent with this instrument. After 15 minutes in the store, I figured out how to play the opening bit from Smoke on the Water with no music or instruction. I’m a musical rock star genius!

Is the back flat, or dome shaped?
I play fiddle, my sister has a mandolin and my brother-in-law plays banjo. With a bass guitar you can join our ho-down if you want!
very cool!
my parents have a ukulele, my dad is so proud that he can play a few songs on it (my mom is a musician so it is easier for her.)
We should totally have a ho-down! 🙂
It’s got a flat back.
