    You should check some of the more web 2.0 offers. has an interesting solution that allows you to easily have a wedding registry with stuff from every site but also retail stores.

    I used felicite for my wedding last September. While most of our guests purchased gifts from our target and macys lists, a few chose to use felicite. We received maybe 10 separate gifts from felicite (via klinq, sur la table or williams-sonoma). I’ve only recently had one issue – I was told that I was to receive a gift from someone via kitchen universe – it never came, and my issue was passed right on from felicite to kitchen universe without any help from felicite. still haven’t resolved the missing gift issue – because of this, I might suggest you follow up on some other suggested sites first!

    I’m not sure what the benefit would be of combining them like that? 5% seems like a hefty “convenience” fee.

    We did the lions share of our registry at Crate & Barrel. I loved it.

    The only thing I didn’t like was they require you to keep all the reciepts, which was a pain in the rear.

    Bed Bath & Beyond had the most AMAZING return policy. Cash on the spot, no reciepts needed. It ruled.

    Just an fyi…a friend of mine skipped the traditional registry (since they already lived togther, their home was basically set) and registered with AAA travel agency (I think-it was them) and so guests would donate money towards their honeymoon– Everything was paid for: flight, hotel, even massages!

    You should consider (disclaimer: I work for Felicite).

    Once in a while the merchants, like Kitchen Universe have difficulties fulfilling orders. We only operate only the gift registry portion of the transaction, so if a store runs out of an item or has trouble shipping it in a reasonable time, then it is up to them to fix the problem. We don’t stock any goods, but we do our best to handle customer problems like this.

    So yes, it makes us look bad at times, but we always notify the merchant when these problems arise and try to help the registrants, as our business depends upon their happiness.

    Fortunately, the vast majority of merchants send the goods off in a timely manner and problems like this are rare. Problem merchants are eventually removed from our system.

    Another option available to registrants, when the gift is slow to arrive, is to convert the gift to a cash gift. This way the registrant can get the money from the gift giver and purchase the gift elsewhere. Then you won’t have to wait for slow delivering merchants.
