Wedding Wednesday: Not Fun
I don’t really go for the hype that as soon as you get engaged you need to launch a full body enhancement program. Teeth whitening, invisalign, 6am fitness boot camp, laser hair removal, etc. I’ll pass.
But I did decide to get a couple things zapped off my face this year. It was #6 on my resolution list.
So I went to the dermatologist today to have the dark freckle, weird raised spot and one of those little red capillary things eradicated. No biggie right? It started with the doctor asking me if I was “attached” to my freckles…um….yes? Then the liquid nitrogen came out and then the laser.
Being the huge toughie I am, I of course almost fainted on my way out and had to drink juice lying down. My face hurts like heck and it appears that I’ve been in a bar brawl that resulted in a good hook to the left eye. I don’t think I’m cut out for this sort of beauty regiment.

OMG, how awful! I hope you feel better soon. I had a similar experience at the dentist.
eek! I understand. I had a teeny tiny mole removed and it looked awful–bruised, stitched, etc. Feel better.
Q: Are you “attached” to your freckles?
A: Well, they are a part of my skin.
Did he go to Hollywood Upstairs Medical College?
Oh I went through a (short) period where I felt I really needed to deal with all of those troublesome little things like the one your mentioned. One was a hardly noticeable piece of skin growning under my left thumbnail. So I went to the dermatologist and they said they would remove it and as I was getting this procedure done they realized that they would have to remove my entire thumbnail and that it would leave a bit of a “scar”. I couldn’t understand how you could have a scar on your thumbnail but basically what it is is a thick line going right up my thumbnail and marring my formerly quite attractive hands! It’s been about seven years now so I’ve gotten used to it but I’ve also learned my lesson to just leave things alone! Oh well, it could have been worse like those botched boobs jobs you hear about.
A good vitamin E cream will help soothe things and you’ll be right as rain soon. I really like Colonial Naturals Vitamin E Cream & Moisturizer with its 28,000 I.U. of vitamin e (I don’t really know what that means, but it seems like a lot).
I would love to know how the capillary removal thing went, because I have some that really bother me. What is the treatment like for that?
They do it with a laser. It’s somewhat painful (like getting pricked with a needle) but not too bad overall.
