Wedding Wednesday: Band

Wedding Wednesday: Band

I’m happy about the vintage wedding band I found. It goes really well with my big ring, which is is also silver with diamonds and gold on the band. I don’t think I’ll usually wear them both at the same time, but I could.

I know it isn’t traditional to buy your own wedding ring, but I like that I picked it out myself. Seems balanced to have one ring from Rob and one of my own. Now we just need to find Rob’s band and it’s one more thing checked off the list.

Speaking of wedding “to do” lists, my friend Nicole was proposed to recently and she is just beginning to take on the task of planning her wedding. She mentioned that there are several books out there that offer guidance but its hard to know which one is the best. Are you using a wedding planner book that you would recommend? It seems like you are so organized and really enjoying planning your “big day”.

    Congratulations to Nicole!

I used theknot.com a bit at the beginning. Mainly, I have an excel spreadsheet with my financials, to-do’s and schedule. I had a long engagement, so it wasn’t too rushed.

Having one day a week that I blog about wedding planning also helped me avoid procrastination.

I just got mine resized, picked it up in the Castro for “Happy Gay Marriage Day.” It’s vintage and even though my ring is small, they are almost too much together. I’m not too fussed, I may wear them on different fingers. I’m getting a super simple band for the ceremony anyway, this one, while I think of it as my wedding band, will go on at the Ketubah signing. Basically, what I’m saying, is I decided it was mostly important to me to get two rings I love, and if I love them more on different fingers, then hey! Fine with me. 🙂
